LEISURE MARINE ENGINEER

Following a restructure of the busy marine servicing facility an opening has become available for a Leisure Marine Engineer.
You will need to have the ability to work with our team and alone, joining a flexible team supported by the department manager.
The candidate must have a basic working understanding of the following: –
V8, V6, inline petrol engines ranging from points & condenser’s to MPI engines with ECM ignition systems and the internal mechanical workings
Inline and V8 diesels including Common Rail and leisure diesel generators
Routine petrol & diesel engine servicing
Computerised diagnostic equipment
12v & 24v electrical wiring systems to fault find and rewire as required
Training will be offered for the specific dealership products such as Mercruiser petrol and diesel, Yanmar and Shire diesels, Mercury and Honda outboards, including diagnostics.
The work is including but not limited to dealership inboards, outboards, stern drive engines and all associated components; but includes other products such as Volvo Penta petrol & diesels, Cummins, VW, Ford, etc. plus installation of stern gear and drive train and general mechanical and electrical components.
Ability to read, understand and follow technical manuals and drawings is a must.
The candidate will need basic PC skills, the role would suit a person who is clean, tidy methodical in their work ethic and able to think on their feet,
be prepared to carry out preventative and reactive maintenance to all vessel systems as requested by the owners.
Joining the team in the broader aspects of the running and maintaining of a busy marina and have a willingness to expand their skills to work with the team in lifting boats onto the hardstanding, launching and moving boats to and from their moorings and other duties associated with a very busy marina.
The normal hours are 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Salary £24,000 to £25,000
