My client based at the South of Lincoln close to the A46 is looking for a hard-working, experienced Chef or Catering Manager. The ideal candidate will ensure the delivery of great quality food and beverages across their two busy sites in Lincolnshire managing around 180 covers and be passionate about providing not only the best service but the best food whilst developing a team of people
The perfect candidate must have:
Been working in a similar industry within a working kitchen or catering environment
Have strong interpersonal skills, being able to communicate on all levels in a calm and professional manner
Be fully converse with all areas of the business with the aim of achieving maximum GP, from purchasing of produce through to staffing levels
Have knowledge of season produce, can suggest and preparing to the high standard that is expected
Source local fresh meat and vegetable within the advised costings
Manage the kitchen to its full potential, ensuring that staff are kept informed of any changes and controlling the working environment
Strong organisational with accurate time management
The ability to think quickly, work in busy environments and maintain a professional attitude at all times
The successful candidate will be responsible for management of kitchens, café areas and storage facilities, ensuring health and safety regulations are met. You will be involved in menu design and introduction, focusing on the use of local produce and suppliers and adapting to different seasonal tastes, whilst being able to keep to a strict financial budget. The perfect candidate will be able to adjust to dietary requirements and provide specialised menus when required, either on regular occasions or for individual events.
Alongside being involved in the management of the kitchen you will also be responsible for training, supervising and motivating staff. The ideal candidate would be articulate, approachable and passionate about developing their own career and those around them. You will be responsible for staff rotas, ensuring there are sufficient staff numbers for evenings and events.
The venue caters for a selection of events, including children’s parties, corporate meetings and family functions all year round. Consequently, you will be required to work flexible hours which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
